Hyungju Park has been the president of Ajou Univ. since February, 2018. He received BS in physics at Seoul National University in 1986, and Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of California, in Berkeley. Prior to joining Ajou Univ., he was on the faculty of several institutions including Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), and served as the president of the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Korea. He also served as the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in 2014.
