  • Song Eun-Ju

    Educator for Heavenly Dream School

    Educator Song Eun-Ju has been the Mathematics instructor for Heavenly Dream School (Korea’s first alternative school for North Korean defectors approved by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education) since 2017. As a member of the research department, Song participated in planning and operating of the research school and research projects of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (development of math education textbooks and guidance books). Song also developed North Korean defectors’ education, produced pamphlets and planned and operated the Program for Unification Education. Since 2020, Song has been in charge of the operation of education using artificial intelligence (AI) at Heavenly Dream Middle and High School and participated in the ‘Case Study on Artificial Intelligence Education’ as well as researching and reporting cases of applying AI to mathematical education. Currently, Song is continuing her research in using AI for mathematics classes.

    Researcher at Korean Educational Development Institute and Head Researcher at Education Commission Asia

    Dr. Sung Jae Park is research fellow at the Korean Educational Development Institute (KEDI). His research focus on Asian Studies in the areas of Education, Law, Science, and Technology. Dr. Park has published several books, articles, and essays including Korean Taxation (Seoul: Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers 5th ed. 2015), International Taxation in Korea (Amazon Kindle: S&B House 2013), and Business Taxation (Seoul: Pouvoir Economic Institute 2011). Trained in Law, Economics, Education, Politics, and Engineering, Dr. Park holds an LL.B. and a Ph.D. in Law from Korea University, an LL.M. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, an M.S. and a Ph.D. (ABD) in Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), an M.A. in Economics from Sogang University, an MPA from Seoul National University, an M.A. in International Policy from the Graduate Institute of Peace Studies, Kyung Hee University, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. He is also a trained negotiator from Harvard Law School. Before becoming a research scholar, he had served as Assistant Secretary to the President for Political Affairs and for Education at the Blue House. He taught at the Korea University School of Law and the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea. During the 2018-2020 academic year, Dr. Park was a visiting scholar at the East-West Center, Hawaii and the Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University.

    enior Researcher at the Brookings Institute & Former Vice President of the World Bank

    Elizabeth M. King is a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. She was formerly Vice President for Human Development sectors(2013-2014), and Senior Spokesperson and Professional Head for Global Policy and Strategic Issues related to Education and Human Development(2009-2014) of the World Bank, Washington, DC. In these positions, she was the professional head for global policy and strategic issues related to education development and human development. She led the development of the World Bank Group’s education strategy for ten years. Based on these experiences, she has published several research papers and journal articles on topics such as household investments in human capital; the linkages between education, poverty and economic development. She exerts a huge influence on the education of girls and women and education finance. She has also taught special courses in economics at several universities, including in the Philippines, U.S., Japan, and France. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University.

    Rose Sagun is currently the Global Concierge Manager for the Education Commission (EC) and is also the Co-Chair for the Harvard Alumni for Education in the San Francisco Bay Area. In particular, Sagun earned her master’s degree in International Education Policy at Harvard University and gained 10 years of experience in education, Edtech and developed learning products at Forbes Global. Sagun alsp experienced a variety of online learning studies for adults, elementary and secondary students and is currently using artificial intelligence (AI) to provide personalized and customized learning through operating and managing Education Commission (EC)’s High Touch High Tech model.

    Sohee Shin is currently working as CEO of Education Commission Asia (ECA). She had worked at Hyundai Motor Company for more than 10 years in charge of global marketing before changing her career to education to contribute to enriching human life. She is interested in building a broad understanding of humans, and is particularly interested in incorporating differentiated learning processes of the MZ generation into education. She received a master's degree in Higher Education and Student Development from Wheaton College in the United States.
